API and integrations
Use the REST API, Zapier and n8n to move data and trigger messages from other systems, and connect ad pixels, Twilio and Mailchimp so campaigns and audiences reach the tools your team already runs.
Reviewed:
AppBoost API & Integrations is the connectivity layer for marketing and product teams that need AppBoost to work with their existing tools. It offers a REST API authenticated with a project ID and API key, Zapier triggers, n8n workflows, ad pixel and Twilio setup, Mailchimp sync, and marketplace apps for Shopify and Zid, all documented publicly.
The problem
Installs, events and segments sit in one system while orders, spreadsheets, ad accounts and email lists sit in others. Without a supported connection, engineers build one-off scripts and marketers export files by hand.
Capabilities
Programmatic access to AppBoost features. Every request is authorized with your project ID and API key, and public Postman documentation is available at apidocs.appgain.io.
Five triggers cover users who removed the app, new users, user events with properties, tracked installs and tracked install revenue, ready to pass into Google Sheets or ad audiences.
Call the AppBoost messaging and automation APIs from n8n with HTTP Request nodes to send SMS, WhatsApp, email and push, fire automation events and cancel scheduled automation messages.
Add your Facebook or X (Twitter) pixel ID in project settings, then activate the pixels on a smart deep link so visitors are collected for re-targeting.
Bring your own Twilio account. Enter the account SID, auth token and sender number in Platform settings and run SMS or WhatsApp campaigns through it.
When a user installs your app, their email address is added to your Mailchimp audience list, and saved segments can be targeted there.
Connect commerce platforms through marketplace apps for Shopify and Zid.sa, as an alternative to an SDK or API integration.
Integrate directly with SDKs for website, Android, iOS and Flutter, then extend with the REST API where an SDK does not fit.
Full integration list
This list follows docs.appgain.io. Each item has a public setup guide or is named in the integration overview.
Availability of each ad network depends on your account with that network. Ask the team during your demo which ones fit your stack.
How it works
Open Project Settings, go to API and SDK Keys, and copy your Project ID and API key. These authorize REST API requests, including those sent from n8n.
Pick the path that fits the job: REST API for custom code, Zapier or n8n for no-code workflows, or a marketplace app for Shopify or Zid.
Add Twilio keys under Platform settings, and add ad pixel IDs under Integrations in Project Settings, then activate pixels on your smart deep links.
In Zapier, test a trigger against data that matches it before choosing an action. For the API, use the Postman documentation to try requests.
Who it is for
Connect AppBoost events and audiences to the tools you already use, and automate routine sends without waiting on an engineering ticket.
Plan integrations against a documented, key-authenticated API rather than custom exports, and keep the number of bespoke services low.
Use cases
Use an n8n workflow that listens for a new order and calls the AppBoost API to send an SMS or WhatsApp confirmation to the customer.
Use the Zapier new user or user event trigger to add people to a Facebook custom audience, a LinkedIn matched audience or a Google Sheet.
Fire an automation event when a purchase completes, and cancel scheduled automation messages through the API when a customer opts out or cancels.
Connect Mailchimp so each new installer with an email address lands in your audience list, ready for email campaigns.
