Mobile SDKs

One integration for every app and site, live in minutes

AppBoost SDKs connect Android, iOS, Flutter and web properties to one project. Setup takes 5-10 minutes per platform, then push, deep links, events and automation work from the dashboard.

Overview

AppBoost Mobile & Web SDKs are the client libraries that connect an Android, iOS, Flutter or web property to an AppBoost project. Initialised with a Project ID and API key, they enable push notifications, deferred deep linking, event and revenue tracking, user attributes and automation triggers, with setup documented at 5-10 minutes per platform.

Key facts

Native and cross-platform SDKs
Android, iOS, Flutter and Web
Setup time
5-10 minutes for mobile SDKs, 2-5 minutes for Web
Credentials to initialise
Project ID and API key from Project Settings
iOS rich push
Appgain-Rich notification extension for media content

The problem

Every new channel should not need a new engineering project

When push, deep linking, analytics and automation each ship as separate integrations, product teams carry the maintenance and marketers wait for releases. One SDK connects the app once and feeds every AppBoost product from the same data.

Capabilities

What Mobile & Web SDKs includes

  • Four platform SDKs

Use native Android and iOS libraries, the Flutter package or the Web SDK, so each team integrates in the stack it already ships.

  • Fast, credential-based setup

Initialise with your Project ID and API key from Project Settings. Documented setup time is 5-10 minutes per mobile platform and 2-5 minutes for web.

  • Push notifications

Register devices for push on Android and iOS, and subscribe web visitors to browser notifications through the Web SDK, all managed from the AppBoost dashboard.

  • Deferred deep linking

Call matchLink after install to detect whether the app came from a smart deep link, then route the user to the campaign screen instead of the default home screen.

  • Events and revenue

Log custom events with logEvent and record purchases with addPurchase, so campaign performance and lifetime value are tied to real in-app behavior.

  • User attributes

Send profile data with updateUser or its platform equivalent, and set your own user ID, to build audiences and personalize messages for anonymous and identified users.

  • Automation triggers

Call fireAutomator with a trigger point and optional personalization data to start an automated message journey configured in the dashboard, with no new release for each campaign.

  • Rich push on iOS

Add the Appgain-Rich notification service and content extensions to show images, video and other media in iOS push notifications.

How it works

How Mobile & Web SDKs works

  1. 1

    Create a project

After your account is set up with the Appgain team, add a project in the AppBoost dashboard with a name and subdomain.

  2. 2

    Copy your credentials

Open Project Settings to find the Project ID and API key that every SDK initialisation requires.

  3. 3

    Configure push credentials

Add a Google Server API key for Android or an iOS push certificate for iOS so notifications can be delivered.

  4. 4

    Install and initialise

Add the SDK for your platform following its guide, then initialise it once at app or page start with your credentials.

  5. 5

    Track and test

Wire in matchLink, events, purchases and user attributes, then validate the flow with the Appgain test apps before release.

Who it is for

Who uses Mobile & Web SDKs

For marketing managers

Once the SDK is in the app, campaigns, journeys and audiences are built in the dashboard without another engineering ticket.

  • Launch push and automated journeys without a new app release
  • Route installs from campaign links to the intended in-app screen
  • Tie revenue and events back to the channel that acquired the user
  • Reuse one data source across push, email, SMS and WhatsApp

For product managers

A single, documented integration per platform keeps effort predictable and event data consistent across apps and web.

  • Five to ten minutes of documented setup per mobile platform
  • Same core calls across platforms: events, purchases, attributes, automation
  • Native and cross-platform options for mixed technology stacks
  • One Project ID and API key pair per project, found in Project Settings

Use cases

Mobile & Web SDKs use cases

  • 01

    Launching a new app

Integrate the SDK during development so push, deep links and attribution are ready on release day.

  • 02

    Cross-platform product teams

Ship one Flutter integration that serves Android and iOS users from a single codebase.

  • 03

Web and app under one profile

Add the Web SDK to your site to capture visitors, browser push subscriptions and events next to your app users.

  • 04

    Behavior-triggered messaging

Fire an automation trigger when a user reaches a milestone and let the dashboard journey send the right message.

Frequently asked questions

Mobile & Web SDKs FAQ

How long does SDK integration take?
The documentation lists 5-10 minutes for Android, iOS and Flutter, and 2-5 minutes for Web. You need an AppBoost account, your Project ID and API key, and push credentials: a Google Server API key for Android or an iOS push certificate for iOS.
Which platforms are supported?
AppBoost provides SDKs for Android, iOS, Flutter and Web, plus a REST API for other systems.
What can I track with the SDK?
You can log custom events with logEvent, record purchases with addPurchase, and update user attributes with updateUser or its platform equivalent. System events such as app installs and push interactions are captured automatically once the SDK is integrated.
How does deferred deep linking work in the SDK?
After a new install, calling matchLink tells the app whether it came from a smart deep link. On a successful match the SDK returns the link details and parameters, so the app can route the user to the campaign destination instead of the home screen.
Can marketers trigger campaigns from the app?
Yes. The app calls fireAutomator with a trigger point name, optionally with personalization data. An automated message created in the dashboard with the same trigger then runs, so marketers change the message without changing app code.
Does the SDK support rich push on iOS?
Yes. The iOS SDK includes the Appgain-Rich framework. You add a notification service extension and a content extension to the app so push notifications can display media such as images and video.
How does the SDK relate to other AppBoost products?
The SDK is the data layer for the mobile products. It powers push notifications, smart deep links, attribution, uninstall tracking and marketing automation from one project, and it feeds audiences and user profiles used across every channel.
