Overview

AppBoost CRM is the customer relationship layer for mobile app and e-commerce teams. It keeps a rich profile for each user, with attributes, a timeline that starts at first install, and lifetime value. Teams filter these profiles into lifecycle segments, import and export them as CSV, and start personalized journeys based on each customer's behavior.

Key facts

Profile source
System attributes tracked automatically after SDK integration, plus custom attributes you define
Filters
App install date, last seen, LTV and last event
Segment types
Past behavior segments and live segments
Data exchange
CSV import and export
Custom attributes
Defined per platform: app, website or POS

The problem

Customer history is scattered, so every team sees a different customer

Install dates live in one tool, purchases in another and campaign responses in a third. Without a single record, marketers cannot tell a loyal buyer from a lapsed installer, and product teams cannot see what a user did before they left.

Capabilities

What CRM includes

  • Rich user profiles

View each customer's data in detail, from device and location to app version, last seen date and usage counter, with simple analytics on the same screen.

  • Lifetime value per user

With revenue tracking enabled, every profile carries total purchases as LTV, so you can rank customers and see which acquisition sources bring valuable users.

  • Full user timeline

Follow a customer from the moment of install through every tracked event, including campaign interactions, to understand what happened before a purchase or a lapse.

  • Lifecycle segments

Filter by install date, last seen, LTV or last event and save the result as a segment. Past behavior segments group history, while live segments update as users act.

  • Custom attributes

Record the data your business runs on as custom attributes for the app, website or point of sale, and use them in filters next to the system attributes.

  • CSV import and export

Export your user data to CSV in one click for analysis in other tools, and import CSV files when you need to bring customer data in.

  • Personalized journeys

Trigger campaigns from user behavior, such as a welcome message after install or a reminder after inactivity, and personalize content with variables from the profile.

  • Re-targeting from segments

Target saved segments in-app, through Mailchimp audience lists, or on social and ad networks, so the customer groups you define become audiences you can reach.

How it works

How CRM works

  1. 1

    Integrate the SDK

Once an AppBoost SDK is integrated, system user attributes such as install date, last seen, platform, country and usage counter are tracked automatically.

  2. 2

    Add custom data

Log the custom attributes and events that matter to your business for each platform. Your account manager can recommend a starting set during integration.

  3. 3

    Define lifecycle segments

On the user profile screen, filter by install date, last seen, LTV or last event, then save the filter as a past behavior or live segment.

  4. 4

    Reach each segment

Send campaigns to a segment, start a personalized journey, or target the segment on social and ad networks and Mailchimp.

Who it is for

Who uses CRM

For marketing managers

Work from the customer record rather than from exports, and move from a question about a customer group to a campaign for that group without leaving the tool.

  • Rank customers by lifetime value
  • Define lapsed, new and high-value groups with saved filters
  • Launch a personalized journey from behavior, not from a list request
  • Move audiences to social, ad networks and Mailchimp

For product managers

Read the user timeline to see how people actually move through the product, and keep the attributes that describe them consistent across app, website and POS.

  • Timeline from first install through tracked events
  • System attributes captured by the SDK, custom attributes defined by you
  • Live segments react as behavior changes
  • CSV export for deeper analysis elsewhere

Use cases

CRM use cases

  • 01

    Win back lapsed customers

Create a segment of users who did not launch the app for ten days, then send them a targeted push, SMS or email or start a journey built for lapsed users.

  • 02

    Reward high-value customers

Filter by LTV to isolate the customers who spend most, then treat them differently in campaigns, for example with early access or a tailored offer.

  • 03

    Investigate a drop in purchases

Open individual timelines for users who stopped transacting and compare them with active buyers to see which events preceded the change.

  • 04

Sync customers with ad and email tools

Send saved segments to Mailchimp or ad networks so the same lifecycle groups drive email lists and paid re-targeting.

Frequently asked questions

CRM FAQ

What does AppBoost CRM cover?
It covers the customer record: a rich profile per user, a timeline from install, lifetime value, filters and saved segments, CSV import and export, and personalized journeys. It is built on the same user profiles that power the rest of AppBoost.
Where does profile data come from?
System attributes, such as install date, last seen, platform, country and usage counter, are captured automatically once an SDK is integrated. Name, email, phone and app version come from your app, and custom attributes are logged through the SDKs.
How is LTV calculated?
The ltv attribute is the total revenue from a user, meaning their total purchases. It is populated when revenue tracking is set up. You can filter on LTV, and attribution reports show lifetime value per acquisition channel.
What is the difference between CRM, Audiences and CDP?
CRM is the customer view teams use daily: history, LTV and lifecycle stage. Audiences is the segmentation tool used to build and target groups. CDP is the underlying data foundation. They share the same profiles, so segments built in one are usable in the others.
What do we need to get started?
Integrate an AppBoost SDK. The docs give a setup time of 5 to 10 minutes for the SDK. After that, profiles fill in automatically, and your account manager can suggest custom attributes and events to add for your business.
Can we bring in existing customer lists?
Yes. AppBoost supports CSV import and export of user data. Use export to analyze users elsewhere, and track ongoing behavior through the SDK so profiles, filters and segments stay current.
